Antinori is currently led by Marchese Piero Antinori, the latest of 26 generations to run the family business. In the latter half of the 20th Century Antinori has made a significant impact, both on the domestic scene and on the international market. They have been innovators in the development of Super-Tuscan blends and keen experimenters in the vineyard leading to expansion in ownership of vineyards and wine making facilities outside their homeland of Chianti Classico.
Antinori own a large number of estates throughout Tuscany, of which the most significant is Tenuta Tignanello comprising two vineyards producing the jewels in the crown, Tignanello and Solaia.
Other vineyards under their ownership include Prunotto in Piedmont, Montenisa in Franciacorta making the Traditional Method Sparkling, Pian delle Vigne from Brunello di Montalcino, Peppoli and Villa Antinori from Chianti Classico.
A tough, non-fussy grape, Barbera has been known to be flexible in its acclimation to different regions. It is typically a deep ruby color with low tannin and bracing, high acidity.
Fresh and light - this is how this delicious cuvée can be described. It presents itself in a delicate straw yellow with an intense, extremely elegant scent of yellow roses and candied fruits. On the palate it impresses with a savory taste and a delicate reverberation.
